Art of Dancing has been a truly enriching part of my journey with Kathak. I started classes here during a period when I was adjusting to life in a new state, and it quickly became one of the best parts of that transition, a space that felt grounding and familiar even as everything else around me was new. From the very first class, I've appreciated how thoughtfully the training is structured, building technique step by step while still leaving room for genuine creative expression. Payel is a wonderful teacher: patient, encouraging, and deeply knowledgeable, with a gift for helping each dancer grow at their own pace while still pushing us to try new things. What I love most is the sense of community here. It doesn't feel like a typical class, it feels like a team working toward something meaningful together, and that made settling into a new city so much easier. Getting the chance to perform on stage has been especially rewarding; it's given me real confidence and a deeper connection to this beautiful classical art form. I'm so grateful to have found this space to learn, grow, and connect with a tradition as rich as Kathak.

As a grandmother, I never imagined I would get the chance to learn Bharatnatyam at this stage of my life. My seven-year-old granddaughter has been learning from Payel, and one day, while accompanying her to practice, I casually mentioned that I always wished I’d had the opportunity to learn this beautiful art form as a child. My daughter encouraged me not to let that wish go unfulfilled, and when she spoke to Payel about it, Payel was wonderfully encouraging and welcoming of the idea. That’s how my own Bharatnatyam journey began — and now I get to learn alongside my granddaughter, which is a joy in itself. I had a knee replacement surgery, and honestly, I thought that ruled out dance for me entirely. But Payel took that into account and thoughtfully modified the steps so I could still learn and enjoy the practice safely. That kind of care and attentiveness says so much about her as a teacher. What has moved me most, though, is watching how Payel is with all her students. She never teaches with pressure, only with warmth and patience, and when a student does well, her pride and joy are so genuine and visible. Payel isn’t just teaching Bharatnatyam — she’s nurturing confidence, joy, and love for the art in every student who walks through her door, young or old. I’m deeply grateful to have found her.

Payel is great teacher and performer. She teaches kids to inspire them and makes the process interesting. Her dedication to dancing is second to none.
